DIY Epoxy Resin Coasters with Dried Flowers
Epoxy resin coasters are a beautiful and practical way to preserve the beauty of dried flowers. They make unique gifts or a lovely addition to your own home decor. Here's how to make them:
Materials
* Epoxy resin (follow the manufacturer's instructions for mixing)
* Silicone coaster molds
* Dried flowers
* Mixing cups and stir sticks
* Toothpick or needle
* Optional: gloves, heat gun
Instructions
* Prepare your workspace: Cover your work surface with a protective layer (like a silicone mat or plastic sheeting). Work in a well-ventilated area.

* Prepare the molds: Clean the silicone molds with soap and water, and make sure they are completely dry.
* Mix the resin: Follow the instructions on your epoxy resin kit to mix the resin and hardener. Stir slowly and thoroughly to avoid creating bubbles.

* Pour a base layer: Pour a thin layer of resin into each coaster mold. This will help seal the flowers and prevent them from floating to the top.
* Arrange the flowers: Carefully place the dried flowers in the resin, using a toothpick or needle to position them as desired.

* Pour the second layer: Once the base layer is tacky (but not fully cured), pour another layer of resin over the flowers, filling the mold almost to the top.
* Remove bubbles: If you see any bubbles, use a heat gun on low heat to gently pass over the surface of the resin. This will help the bubbles rise and pop.
* Cure: Let the coasters cure for at least 24 hours, or according to the manufacturer's instructions.
* Demold: Once the coasters are fully cured, carefully remove them from the molds.
* Finishing touches: If desired, you can add a layer of clear resin to the back of the coasters for a smoother finish.

Tips
* Choose flowers that are completely dry to prevent them from molding in the resin.
* Use a variety of flower shapes and colors for a more interesting design.
* Don't overcrowd the coasters with flowers. Leave some space around them to allow the resin to show through.
* Be patient and let the resin cure fully before demolding the coasters.
Enjoy your beautiful and unique epoxy resin coasters!
